A Message from IBCFPRS President

Dear IBCFPRS Diplomates,
2025 HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD YEAR! I’m happy to let you know that the IBCFPRS examined 16 candidates in Washington, D.C. on June 28-29, and 15 candidates who took the IBCFPRS/EBCFPRS examination in Munich on July 12-13 for a total of 31 IBCFPRS examinees. Many of the candidates were in fellowships, which means they will have to accrue two years of operative experience before they are eligible to submit an IBCFPRS/EBCFPRS application, but as of September 20, 2025, the IBCFPRS now has 205 certified surgeons from all over the glob
2026 EXAMINATION APPLICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE!
Interest is very high for the upcoming 2026 exams which will be held on June 27-28 in Washington, D.C. and July 11-12 at the Schloss Hohenkammer, in Germany (Munich). If you have colleagues who are interested in applying, the deadline for submission of registration forms for Fellows and applications for Regular candidates are due by January 15th. Spaces are limited so please apply as soon as possible.
OMFS-MD’S ARE NOW ELIGIBLE FOR IBCFPRS/EBCFPRS CERTIFICATION.
In addition to surgeons who have achieved certification in otolaryngology and/or plastic surgery, international OMFS surgeons who have achieved a full medical degree from an accredited University Medical school and have graduated from an accredited residency in OMFS are also eligible to apply for IBCFPRS/EBCFPRS certification via the Regular track. Regular track candidates must submit an application along with two years of operative experience (100 consecutive operative reports performed during a two-year period in the past five years) along with all the other requirements listed in the application. EL EXAMEN ESCRITO IBCFPRS/EBCFRPS ESTARÁ DISPONIBLE EN ESPAÑOL EN 2026!
WRITTEN IBCFPRS/EBCFPRS EXAMINATION WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SPANISH IN 2026!
We’re excited to announce that the IBCFPRS/EBCFPRS can now offer the written portion of the examination in Spanish (not the oral, which will still be administered in English) at the 2026 examinations. International candidates who request (in advance) this option will be able to take the written portion of the examination in Spanish, but the IBCFPRS will need to know if this is (your) a candidate’s preference at least 2 months in advance of the examination.
